  Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora, the Minister of State for Health, says contrary to earlier reports, the Russian COVID-19 vaccine is yet to arrive in Nigeria.   It was widely reported on Friday, September 4, that the vaccines are already in Nigeria.   Speaking to newsmen, Mamora said what happened yesterday was that the Russian Ambassador to Nigeria and the Deputy Head of Mission, Alexey Shebarshin, only visited the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, to give an update on the Russian vaccine.   “We have not yet received the vaccine and, to the best of my knowledge, it is not yet ready. The Russian Ambassador and the Deputy Head of Mission only visited us to give us an update. Many other stakeholders joined the meeting virtually. When the vaccine is ready and we have received it, it will be subjected to the usual test by NAFDAC and other relevant authorities.”Mamora said

  Nollywood veteran actress, Ireti Doyle has shared her thoughts about growth and giving excuses.    The actress in her tweets stated that "you made me do it, you forced me into this, you foisted this on me" are no longer tenable excuses at a certain age. According to her, people have a mind of their own at a certain age.    She tweeted;    After a certain age, "you made me do it" ... you forced me into this"... you foisted this on me" ... is no longer a tenable excuse.. You have a mind of your own ; use it.  

  Some travellers were allegedly abducted and others shot by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway on Friday, September 4.   It was gathered that the gunmen blocked the road near Olam company, about 28 kilometres to Kaduna, abducted many travellers and injured those who attempted to flee.   Narrating his experience, Ibrahim Baba Suleiman, the spokesperson of the Islamic group, Jama'atu Izalatil Bid'a, Wa Ikamatis Sunnah, Nigeria (Jibwis) who escaped the attack, said theat the incident took place around 2pm.   According to Mr Suleiman, a fleeing soldier was shot on the chest by the gunmen while a couple sustained gunshot wounds.   He said the incident had kept more than 1, 000 motorists stranded on the road. It wasn't until an hour later that some soldiers and policemen numbering 15, chased the gunmen and cleared the road for the motorists to pass.   See Suleiman's post and more photos below...

All Progressives Congress chieftains including former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; and former Osun State Governor, Chief Bisi Akande, on Saturday, arrived in Akure, the Ondo State capital, for the flag-off rally of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu re-election campaign. Akeredolu is seeking a return to office on the platform of the ruling APC in the election scheduled to hold on October 10, 2020. He has his deputy, Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party; and Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party as his main challengers in the election. The PUNCH had reported Friday that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), predicted an “easier clear victory” for Akeredolu. Buhari had also presented the party’s flag to Akeredolu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. According to @OndoAPC on Twitter, Tinubu and Akande, who is APC ex-Interim National Chairman, alongside other party members, were received at the Akure Airport by the state governor on Saturday.   See

It has been revealed that Kanye West has spent $6.8 million on his Presidential campaign so far, despite failing to file paperwork in time to get his name on the ballots in several states. The Billionaire rapper, 43, whose political party is called The Birthday Party, has only made the ballot in 10 states, including Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota, according to CNN. West’s campaign finance report, filed to the Federal Election Commission on Friday, reported bringing in a total of $6.8 million between July 15 and Aug. 31. The campaign raised $11,472 in contributions from eight donors that gave between $200 and $1,000 and smaller donors who gave under $200 during that time, the report shows.
